Just over 10 years ago, the VETTS ran a fund-raising campaign to buy a defibrillator which, at the time, we said we hoped that it just sat and gathered dust at our events.
Happily, that's exactly what happened. It was never used, but it was there if it was needed - and that could mean the difference between life and death.
Our defib now needs upgrading and that's going to take a bit of time due to a shortage of parts (beyond our control). But we thought rather than go without, we'd buy another one and then we have one for the south and the north.
The VETTS Executive has earmarked £800 of our funds to be spent on this purchase.
The original fund-raising team and drivers behind this initiative were Andy Eagles, Krishna Hooton and our lovely, crazy friend Sue Collier, who sadly passed away in July 2023.
Sue was passionate that the VETTS should have a defib in case it was ever needed at one of our events - so we've all agreed it will be money well spent to keep her wishes alive.
