VETTS Western Masters 2026 - Roll of Honour

The penultimate VETTS event of the season took place in the South Western part of the country when the veteran community headed to Thornbury, near Bristol, for the VETTS Western Masters.

The event took place over the weekend of April 11/12, 2026 with 23 events in age categories from O/40s to O/80s for singles and doubles among 224 players.

The VETTS is an independent Society for table tennis players of over 40 years of age. It runs major table tennis events around the country throughout the year in a spirit of competition and friendship.

In the men's event, Neil Charles did the double winning the O/40s and the O/50s men's singles, while VETTS President, John Hilton also took two title with the O/70s and O/75sd men's singles. In the ladies events, it was good to see Sara Williams well recovered and return to winning ways in the O/40s carrying an arm injury for some time.

These events wouldn't happen with out the expertise and commitment of our volunteers, so many thanks to everyone who stepped up to help with this event. Particular thanks to Tournament Referee, Cliff Bell; Tournament Organiser, Andy Elliott; 'Top Table' team of Linda Radford, Steve and Gwyneth Adams; and Viv Barry. Also special thanks to Paulette Ann Bowen and Sue Seaholme who stepped up to help with the presentations and photographing the winners. (Photos to follow)

Congratulations to our winners and runners up. Look forward to seeing many of our members at the end-of-season finale, the VETTS National Championships, in Aldersley on May 16/17, 2026.
