92 Years Young

The Over 90s event at the Midland Masters

I have received this lovely message from Michael Silver today, and thought it illustrated beautifully what the VETTS are all about. We had 3 entries in the over 90s, which also included Charles Usher.

"I umpired these two nonagenarians (Allan Biggs and Eric Renshaw) in their match on Sunday and in fact found myself sitting next to Alan for dinner on Saturday night. It was an absolute privilege to spend a little time in the company of two such sporting and lovely men. I can even forgive Eric for thinking that I, as a mere 60 year old ‘nipper’, was the third person in their Group.

Anyway I thought the picture captured what amateur sport was all about and , with their permission of course, thought you might have some use for such a life affirming snap of two weekend TT warriors going strong into their nineties. "   Michael Silver
